About Mousa Boat Trips

Mousa Boat Trips is owned and operated by the Jamieson family who have been running the ferry service from Sandwick to the island of Mousa in Shetland since 1971.

The Mousa Ferry is skippered by Tom Jamieson. His  years of expert service on the run, means you have the very best guide for your trip to the island.

Tom’s wife Cynthia, deals with all the administration of the business from their home in Sandwick.

Over the years the service has become more and more popular, and to cope with this the vessels have been progressively upgraded over the years. The latest vessel “Solan IV” is equipped to the highest standards for quality and safety.

She was built in 1999, can hold 60 passengers and has a top speed of 10 knots.

The service runs during the summer months, from April to mid September.

How to find us

Normally we operate out of Sandwick however due to pier reconstruction work, we have had to relocate to Aithsvoe in Cunningsburgh for the 2010 season.

Take the A970 south from Lerwick or north from Sumburgh. Once at Cunningsburgh, take the Voxter junction and follow the road down towards Aithsvoe. The departure point is signposted.
